ell, well, well. Could some of Mitt Romney’s hostility toward people who use the social safety net stem from his feelings about his father? As John Stewart pointed out, Romney’s father, George Romney, received welfare. BuzzFeed found and posted the full video of Mitt Romney’s mother, Lenore Romney, talking about her husband’s life on the public dole. Here it is.
She says:
You know, we’ve only owned our home for the last four years. He was on relief, welfare relief, for the first year’s of his life. But this great country gave him opportunities.

“His family was poor, they said they lived for year on nothing but potatoes”. Wow…there is a discernible generational gap between Mitt with his campaign guise, and his father’s past in regards to welfare. It is a difficult gap for Mitt to understand if he grew up living for years on nothing but escargot.
