hen we were growing up, our families and teachers instilled in us the idea that knowledge is power. They warned us that we would have to fight for our rights, but assured us that what we put into our brains belonged to us and could not be corrupted.

It was corny, but they were right.
To their credit, they have now raised the most educated generation of black folks ever — even putting one into the White House — and much like the Civil Rights generation, we are hungry and poised to lead. We have a sense of urgency about exercising and expanding our freedom to all of our community and cleaning up the aftermath of the African holocaust.
To get there, we need stronger thought leadership, greater self-awareness and a higher level of conversation. That is the mission of this four-month-old international magazine, Dominion of New York. Hip-hop has expressed our ambition and swagger boldly and best. As rappers say, “We run New York.”
To achieve our mission, we need your support. A generous benefactor is willing to give us $10,000, if we can win more votes than four other new media start-ups. We humbly ask for yours . All you need to do is visit this link and cast your vote for Dominion of New York’s founder, Kelly Virella. The best part is that you can vote as many times as you like! See the FAQs section for instructions. (FYI: It’s totally cool for non-black people to vote for us. Our audience, contributors, and supporters are diverse, just like the investor.)
Vote for Our Partners, Too
